Comment:
My son, Jacob, and I decided in June to move from VA, the only home we had ever known, to Lincoln, NE. I decided this was best to give my son a chance and a fresh start. It is hard enough being a single parent of a child with Autism but to coordinate moving, packing, setting up a place to live, finding the right school for my son, finding the right doctors for my son and myself, and tying up loose ends back home was hectic enough. Honest to God, without the Autism Family Network, I would have pulled all of my hair out. They not only kept in constant contact with me while we were still in VA but have been instrumental in welcoming my son and me to Lincoln, NE. I can't even imagine where we would be without them. A special heart felt thank you to Vicki, who started out as a resource person, but quickly became a friend. My son is 13 now and was diagnosed at 16 months old and I am speaking as blunt as possible when I tell you that I NEVER had this much support in the 12 years where we lived in VA. AFN IS AWESOME!!!! Thanks, Holley and Jacob
