Parent centers in each state provide training and information to parents of infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and young adults with disabilities and the professionals who work with their families. This assistance helps parents participate more effectively with professionals in meeting the educational needs of children and youth with disabilities. Parent centers are funded by the U.S. Department of Education, under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

The EPICS Project is a community parent resource center for American Indian families who live in New Mexico and who have children with special needs.
