Learning Disabilities Association of Greater Memphis

Provides information and support to parents, individuals with learning disabilities and professionals. Provides personal responses to questions on learning disabilities including: specific learning disabilities, family issues, testing, mental health issues, transition, early intervention and special education issues. Provides referral to other organizations and services involved with learning disabilities. Promotes awareness, understanding and communication between parents, educators, and the community. Provides a video lending library and a lending library with over 150 books. Provides Parents/Tutors with the Texas Scottish Rites Program. Presents the "How to Guide Children and Youth to be Self-Motivated and Responsible" and "Positive Self-ness: Recognizing the Good in Me." Advocates the need for appropriate and effective teacher training.
