Michigan Assistive Technology Loan Fund

Low-interest loans for people with disabilities to buy assistive equipment and devices. There is no minimum, but a maximum of $30,000 may be borrowed. Loan approval is based on ability to repay the loan amount requested. Assistive technology refers to any item or piece of equipment that enables a person with a disability to have more independence and better quality of life. Allowable equipment includes, but is not limited to hearing aids, wheelchairs, Braille equipment, computers and adaptive software, adapted recreational equipment, augmentative communication equipment, and modified vehicles.The funds are available through a special federal grant and are administered by United Cerebral Palsy of Michigan.
