Project PROMPT (Parents Reaching Out for Model Parent Training)

Project PROMPT provides a variety of workshops to parents of children with special needs. Workshops include training on Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and related federal and state laws. Specialized training includes assistance in understanding the processes of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP), the Individualized Transition Plan (ITP), least restrictive environment, communication skill building, behavior management/ discipline issues and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1975. Look up the workshops in your area; Due to Hurricane Katrina, the Project PROMPT office is not open (can still be reached at the toll free number given and via email).
