Rosa C. Martinez

Dr. Martinez has been working in the field of autism for approximately 25 years. She has worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school age, teenage and adult populations. She has a B.S. in Special Education from CCNY, a Masters degree in Adolescent Autism, a Masters of Philosophy, and a Doctorate from Columbia University. Dr. Martinez is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Dr. Martinez worked for the New York City Public School system for 17 years as a teacher and a behavior analyst. Dr. Martinez has been instrumental in formulating ABA private schools and public programs for young children with PDD and Autism since 1998. Dr. Martinez has taught Education courses at The College of Staten Island, Long Island University, Touro and Hunter College. She has lectured and presented at various conferences regarding Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis. Dr. Martinez is a member of The Association for Behavior Analysis, The American Academy of Environmental Medicine, The Autism Society of America and The National Alliance for Autism Research. Her expertise lies in applied behavior analysis (ABA), self-injurious behavior (SIB), functional analysis, curriculum and verbal behavior (VB). Dr. Martinez currently serves as Co-Chair of the NYC Autism Speaks Walk Committee and is a curator of artworks of individuals on the autism spectrum.
