The Vanguard School

The Vanguard School is an Approved Private Day School serving special education students between the ages of 4 and 21. Located on 28 acres, Vanguard provides innovative, state of the art educational and therapeutic programs for students with the exceptionalities of ASD, Neurological Impairment and Serious Emotionally Disturbance. Students are referred to Vanguard by their local school district; tuition is paid by the school district and the PA Department of Education. Private enrollment with full tuition paid by the family is also available. All teachers are certified PA DOE special education teachers. Class sizes vary from a maximum of 8 in elementary school, 10 in middle school and 12 in high school. All therapists are hired as employee of The Vanguard School allowing for frequent and consistent interaction between the classroom teachers and therapists. The Vanguard School will celebrate it's 50th Anniversary in 2008.
