The answers are complicated. Whether or not you believe that vaccines or thimerosal (mercury-based preservative in vaccines) has caused and/or contributed to your child's autism, is up to you. Honestly, at AutismLink, we can tell you that one study says yes, the next says no...... and so on and so on. It's a roller coaster ride filled with scientific terms, researchers, and complicated data. The answer is that you'll have to decide for yourself. We present the information in an unbiased format, and let you decide!
We will say this -- more parents than not believe that mercury and thimerosal contributed to their child's autism. Is it safe to immunize? Only you can decide -- make sure that your child's vaccinations are MERCURY FREE. Ask for thimerosal free vaccinations, and you may also want to ask for single shots -- not those that cover 3 or 4 different vaccinations like MMR or DPT. You *can* get them in single vial dosages.
