Providing services for children with autism and pervasive developmental disorders.


The Childrens Center’s Upper West Side campus will provide scientifically based world class treatment and education to children ages 3 to 12 utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

The program’s Interdisciplinary Model will incorporate ABA, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy as well as natural environment training and family support.

The Children's Center is a partner in research and service activities with Columbia University, Teachers College faculty and students.

The Childrens Center’s Brooklyn Campus (www.schoolworksonline.org) was established in 1996 to provide educational and therapeutic services to children with developmental delays including children diagnosed with PDD and Autism. Over the years of its existence, The Children's Center has served over 1,500 children and employed over 200 professionals in its Interdisciplinary Model. It is this level of front line experience that gives The Children's Center its expertise in delivering quality services to the right children at the right time by the right people.

Founded in 1957 by parents with children for whom no appropriate services were available, ACLD is today a premier provider in New York State. Services include Residential Options, Vocational Training and Job Placement, Medical and Mental Health Services, Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Family Support Programs, and Day Treatment opportunities.

Adaptations, The Young Adult Life Skills network, is a joint initiative between FEGS Health and Human Services and the JCC in Manhattan. The program serves college educated young adults-people in their 20's and 30's with a learning disability or on the Autistic spectrum. Adaptations offers a wide variety of opportunities from social activities to ways to improve interpersonal skills, explore career options and more.

Assistance with individuals who are on the Home and Community Based Waiver who want to do self-determination. This enables individuals with autism to live the life they dream about while not being at the mercy of an agency or service provider. They hire their own staff and pay them at the wages the individual deserves. They can supplement their lives within their families or while in a group home with activities and programs within the community.
Individuals who are self-determined are in control!

Providing broker services for those with autism who receive Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver. This program will enable a person and his family to have more control over their lives. It is a self-determination and self-advocacy model.

We believe that all children have a right to a safe and permanent home and deserve the support and involvement of their community when their safety is at risk or their permanency is jeopardized.

AHA Association is a 501(c)(3) New York organization providing support and education for families, individuals and professionals affected by Aspergers Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorders and related conditions. We run (10)monthly support groups from Montauk to Manhattan (including a group for Teens on the spectrum and one for adults), two major conferences yearly, a hotline, monthly educational meetings, a comprehensive website and a newsletter.

The Association for Metroarea Autistic Children, Inc. has provided services to help people of all ages with autistic-spectrum disorders, and their families, since 1961.

Social skills groups in a fun and exciting atmosphere through movement and the arts.

This program targets social skill development through a group process to help kids learn to negotiate difficult social interactions and self-regulate their behavior. We teach group cooperation and social/emotional self awareness from a holistic perspective.

I have been working with children with behavior disorders for six years. I am available for consultation, supervisory, and theraputic services. I have experience working with children from the ages of eighteen months to seventeen years. I am available to provide services both in the school and home environment. My rates are dependent upon the type of service provided. I currently provide services to children in Connecticut and New York. I also provide consultation services to families in Washington state.

Andretta Behavior Analysts is an agency dedicated to applying the principals of behavior analysis to educate professionals and increase
students’ educational progress.We provide services in school-based inclusion programs, self-contained classrooms, home-based programs, after-school programs, recreational programs and more. We provide consultation to teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, related service providers,child-care personnel, extended family members and others. Andretta Behavior Analysts was founded by Melissa J. Andretta, a Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). Melissa brings to the firm doctoral training in behavior analysis and disorders from Columbia University, a School Administrator/Supervisor Certificate (SAS), NYS Special Education Certificate and over ten years in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

We provide Autsim/ABA consultation services in home- and school-based educational programs. While we specialize in students on the autism speactrum, we have worked successfully with students with other disabilities, who require behavior analysis servcies. Some of our areas of expertise include: verbal behavior, functional assessments, behavior intervention plans, motivation systems, activity schedules, inclusion, generalization to community and less restrictive environments, social skills training, ADL skills, errorless instruction, discrete trial instruction, fading prompts, shaping behavior, curricula development and adptation, etc. We provide services in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Animals for Autism provides supportive access to information and services for families living with Autism in Upstate NY. We actively support the use of Animal Assisted Therapies and Activities not only for those living with Autism but for all who may benefit.
