The mission of Advocates United is to work together for quality life choices for all people with disabilities.

AHA is dedicated to the advancement of the education and general welfare of children with hyperlexia. We advocate and encourage research related to hyperlexia and seek to assist families of children with hyperlexia in accessing appropriate services.

ARC Community Support Systems offers an Early Intervention program for children ages birth to three with developmental delays or disabilities. Their services include developmental assessments, parent training, play groups, and other support services. They provide a parent education program to families living in Jasper County with a child under age five who are experiencing circumstances that may affect their child’s success. Their Family Matters Program offers family support services to families who have a child with special needs in a twenty-six county area of central and southern Illinois. Families receive help with locating and obtaining needed services such as educational, financial assistance, vocational opportunities, respite, leisure, counseling, family support groups, therapeutic services, and advocacy. Additionally, they have an in-home respite program for families in Richland County.

We believe in the importance of fostering a strong connection between family and community. We embrace the philosophy that inclusion of all residents in the rich fabric of community life, events and programs enhances the quality of life for everyone. Those of us who have loved ones with Autism Spectrum Disorder often want to access and participate in community activities, but are faced with a unique set of challenges in our attempts to do so. We believe that most obstacles can be overcome and barriers broken down when neighbors work with neighbors to strengthen our communities.

Illinois Curing Autism through Research and Education (I-CARE), has teamed up with the Good Shepherd Center to open the Autism Resource Center. Their joint mission is to supply resources, training and referrals for families with a child or adult diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. By providing empowerment through knowledge and awareness of available support, they hope to assist in making decisions for the betterment of home, family and community

The Central Illinois Chapter of the Autism Society of America strives to improve the lives of all our community affected by Autism by providing resources, educational opportunities, and social activities as well as emotional and financial support. Coverage area is approximately 60 miles around Springfield.

The Chicago Southside Autism Support Group is a parent support organization. The mission of CSASG is to provide support and information for families and children with autism. Our group is committed to increasing awareness and improving the quality of life for our children. We welcome you to attend our meetings.
