Camp Tiger is a four-day camp organized and run by medical students for mentally and/or physically disabled children between the ages of 5 and 12. The camp is open to all qualified children on a first-come, first-served basis, and is ENTIRELY FREE OF CHARGE. After almost a year of planning and preliminary work, the first Camp Tiger here at LSU School of Medicine-Shreveport took place in June of 2000, using as a model a similar camp format begun in 1985 at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Camp Tiger, from the beginning, has been planned, organized and staffed solely by volunteers from the medical school classes. |

Progress Listening Center helps children with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, or ADD/ADHD by offering EnListen, the newest patented program available to improve listening, auditory processing, and sensory integration. Developed by Sound Listening Corporation who is chaired by Dr. Billie Thompson, EnListen provides families an in-home choice once the initial evaluation is done. Dr. Thompson was the pioneer who brought Tomatis to the U.S. EnListen takes the benefits of Tomatis many steps further by improving Bone Conduction interference and increasing all processing of sounds necessary to produce word sounds, body coordination and receptive language. |
