Our vision for the Auburn University Autism Center is to provide comprehensive services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), their families, schools, and agencies.

The Camp ASCCA Mission is to help children and adults with disabilities achieve equality, dignity, and maximum independence. This is to be accomplished through a safe and quality program of camping, recreation, and education in a year-round barrier-free environment. Our goal is to serve those who can derive maximum benefit from the resident camp experience and provide a healthier, happier, longer, and more productive life for children and adults of all abilities. Camp ASCCA will also accent "reverse mainstreaming" by including non-disabled persons with disabled persons in the resident camping experience to facilitate the sharing of information and programs of advocacy

The Exceptional Foundation is a non-profit organization which began 15 years ago with five mentally challenged individuals. Today, the foundation serves approximately 250 individuals, with a year-round calendar of programs. Our mission is to meet the social and recreational needs of the mentally and/or physically challenged individuals in the Greater Birmingham Area. Our programs consist of arts, crafts, sporting events, exercise classes, dances, movie nights, girl scouts, music therapy, dog therapy, and many more activities.

Hoover has a devoted team of Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists to develop programs for EXPLORE, a program designed around individuals with physical or mental disabilities. Swimming lessons are available for all ages and skill levels, and specialty classes cover a wide variety of subjects, from crafts and photography to computer skills and language enhancement.

Comprehensive treatment center for children and adults with High Functioning Autism and Asperger's Disorder. Services include an Early Learning Program, After-School Social & Academic Enrichment Program, Summer Programs, Outpatient Resource Center.

Progress Listening Center helps children with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, or ADD/ADHD by offering EnListen, the newest patented program available to improve listening, auditory processing, and sensory integration. Developed by Sound Listening Corporation who is chaired by Dr. Billie Thompson, EnListen provides families an in-home choice once the initial evaluation is done. Dr. Thompson was the pioneer who brought Tomatis to the U.S. EnListen takes the benefits of Tomatis many steps further by improving Bone Conduction interference and increasing all processing of sounds necessary to produce word sounds, body coordination and receptive language.

Day camp held at Hargis - ages 5 through 16 years old

Consultation Services, Extended School Year Option, Residential/Community Placement/Group Home, School (Day), Therapies (Speech, OT, PT, Psychological, etc.), Treatment of Challenging Behaviors/Crisis Management.

We provide the following services for children ages 2-10: Individualized ABA therapy, Early Education Program (ages 4-6), Primary Education Program (ages 7-10), After School Enrichment Program (Social Skills and Academic Tutoring), Occupational Therapy/Sensory Integration, Speech and Language services, Parent training and Support Group, Home-based therapy, training and seminars for educators and other professionals.

Recreation and socail programs for individuals with special needs, ages 3+ Camps, swim lessons, afterschool programs, sensory based activity programs, etc.
