I am a consulting Board Certified Behavior Analyst in MN and WI. What is Part C? Part C is an interagency family centered program for infants and toddlers with disabilities, ages birth to three and their families. The Minnesota Departments of Education (MDE), Health (MDH) and Human Services (DHS) work together with local early childhood intervention committees (IEICs) to provide coordinated services and funding for each eligible child and his or her family. An interagency team, including the family and providers develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), which is the heart of early childhood intervention. The IFSP is both a process and a document. It is a plan of services and support provided in natural environments.

The Minnesota Early Autism Project, Inc., is an in-home treatment program and clinic for young children with autism spectrum disorders based on the principles of Intensive Early Behavior Therapy. This approach is supported by controlled studies that have demonstrated IEBT produces lasting improvements in core symptoms of autism beyond the termination of therapy. It develops communicative speech and improved social relatedness in the majority of those treated. These procedures produce social interaction, communicative and cognitive abilities in 40% to 50% of children with autism that approach those of their typical peers (Sallows & Graupner, 2005). MEAP offers effective treatment with experienced leadership and carefully supervised therapy staff. Music Therapy Services of South Dakota provides research-based and developmentally appropriate music therapy to children and young adults with disabilities. Services range from indvidual and groups sessions, consulting to programs, workshops and inservices. Specialized music instruction is also offered. Music Therapy and related strategies are provided by a board-certified music therapist and registered state service provider.

The years from birth to age five are critical to a child's development. Early Childhood and Family Initiatives programs are geared to helping families of children in these formative years. Our goal is to help parents raise healthy children, and prepare these young people for success in school.

Progress Listening Center helps children with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, or ADD/ADHD by offering EnListen, the newest patented program available to improve listening, auditory processing, and sensory integration. Developed by Sound Listening Corporation who is chaired by Dr. Billie Thompson, EnListen provides families an in-home choice once the initial evaluation is done. Dr. Thompson was the pioneer who brought Tomatis to the U.S. EnListen takes the benefits of Tomatis many steps further by improving Bone Conduction interference and increasing all processing of sounds necessary to produce word sounds, body coordination and receptive language.
