Governmental agency; The mission of the Nevada Developmental Disabilities Council is to provide resources at the community level which promote equal opportunity and life choices for people with disabilities through which they may positively contribute to Nevada society.

The Governor's Committee promotes employment of people with disabilities by enhancing resources available to business and industry to encourage new employment opportunities for disabled persons. This is encouraged by increasing understanding of the value and productivity that disabled persons can bring to the workplace, and by providing training and assistance to employers in accommodating the special needs of people with disabilities.
