We offer consultation services to support individualized in-home behavioral
treatment for children with special needs, with an emphasis on those between 2 to13 years of age, including those with Autism/PDD-NOS, Aspergers, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy and Downs Syndrome. The foundation of our programming is the research-backed approach of Applied Behavior Analysis supplemented by current techniques drawn from the various disciplines that work with development disorders for a truly integrated solution. Autism New Mexico is a group for parents, grandparents, and other family members of children or adults with autism. Discussion is open to education, health care, support issues, ABA, and anything else that is of interest to the group.

One of the most complex tasks both parents and professionals face is developing and implementing an effective language intervention for children with autism. Parents and professionals are finding that BOTH Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Natural Environment Training (NET), together with the help of Skinner's (1957) Functional Analysis of Verbal Behavior to be very effective for children with autism. This is commonly referred to as Applied Verbal Behavior (AVB)which is a specialty within the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). It is a place where parents and professionals running home (and school) programs can discuss concerns and share their knowledge of this type of teaching.

More than 10 national autism leadership organizations have come together to form AutismCares, a nationwide disaster relief effort that will potentially assist thousands of Katrina families living with autism.
