We provide support for families, teachers and community service providers who interact with individuals on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. These services include behavioral interventions, Applied Behavior Analysis, Components of an effective classroom, staff training, building peer relationships, social skills training and play groups.

Services include functional behavior assessment and treatment of various degrees of problem behavior; academic deficit remediation, social skills training, language development and verbal behavior programs, discrete trail training, adaptive skills development, behavior management for the home and school, and parent and teacher training.

Through the Department of Health's Family Infant Toddler (FIT) Program early intervention services are available to help families who have concerns about the development of their young child (birth to three). The Family Infant and Toddler Program at the Department of Health is the lead agency in New Mexico for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part C. In New Mexico early intervention services are provided throughout New Mexico by thirty five (35) FIT Program providers to children with or at risk for, developmental delays and their families. The family and a team of early intervention personnel will develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). The IFSP will document the outcomes identified for the child and family as well as the early intervention and other services to help meet those outcomes. The IFSP will detail how often, for how long and the method by which each service will be provided. A family may accept or decline any service offered to them.

Ed has over 20 years of teaching, clinical, and administrative experience in the field of special education. In addition to his public school teaching and administrative experience, he has worked for community mental health facilities as a clinician and consultant. Ed's experience is complemented by his parenting experience with six children and numerous foster children with special needs.

We provide a comprehensive behavior therapy program for children with autism and related disorders based on scientifically validated principles of applied behavior analysis. Our program is specifically designed to meet each child’s needs, endeavors to respect the dignity and worth of each child, promote each child’s capabilities, and expand each child’s opportunities to function in as normative an environment as possible. We emphasize functional assessments, parent involvement, and social and peer interaction. Our program consists of providing a variety of specific behavior therapy techniques, including but not limited to prompting, fading, positive and differential reinforcement, instructional support, and discrete trial training. Progress Listening Center helps children with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, or ADD/ADHD by offering EnListen, the newest patented program available to improve listening, auditory processing, and sensory integration. Developed by Sound Listening Corporation who is chaired by Dr. Billie Thompson, EnListen provides families an in-home choice once the initial evaluation is done. Dr. Thompson was the pioneer who brought Tomatis to the U.S. EnListen takes the benefits of Tomatis many steps further by improving Bone Conduction interference and increasing all processing of sounds necessary to produce word sounds, body coordination and receptive language.

AUCD formerly UAP(University Affiliated Programs) are authorized by federal legislation to help States and local communities respond to the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families.(AUCDs) serve as a liaison between the academic world and the developmental disabilities service delivery system. AUCDs network with and provide assistance to State Agencies, their local affiliates, and to various nongovermental consumer-based organizations. Most AUCDs provide direct clinical, educational, and other services to individuals and families, or can assist families in finding services.
