My name is Tiphani Slone and I am currently an ABA/VB Consultant/Therapist. I am proficient in Discrete Trial, Direct Instruction, Augmentation Communication and much more in order to provide the best teaching method for children with autism and have over 10 years experience in the field. I attend IEP meetings; provide inclusion, 1:1 therapy, group therapy, social activities and also behavioral intervention. I also provide staff(therapists), as well as train current staff. I am available in the Charlotte/Gastonia/Fort Mill and surrounding areas in NC. I work directly with parents and include them in the development of their child’s program. The Chapel Hill TEACCH Center serves persons with autism spectrum disorders in the northeastern section of the North Carolina Piedmont. Our catchment area includes the counties of Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Orange, Person, Vance, Warren, and the cities of Cary, Morrisville, and Apex in Wake County. We provide services that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual with an autism spectrum disorder and their family. Services available include diagnostic evaluations to determine whether or not an individual has an autism spectrum disorder; education and training such as workshops for parents, teachers, and other professionals focusing on characteristics of autism and intervention strategies, consultation services to programs such as schools or residential communities serving individuals with autism, support services for individuals with autism and their families through parent mentors, support groups, and our “friendship files” (a directory of children interested in meeting other children with an autism spectrum diagnosis), and individual intervention services through our Individual Parent Teaching Sessions and home teaching kit program.
