Early Childhood LINK is a training, consultation, and technical assistance project that facilitates provision of transdisciplinary, early intervention services to children (age birth to five) with the low incidence disabilities of visual impairment, autism, deafness/hard of hearing, and related child mental health issues

My name is Tiphani Slone and I am currently an ABA/VB Consultant/Therapist. I am proficient in Discrete Trial, Direct Instruction, Augmentation Communication and much more in order to provide the best teaching method for children with autism and have over 10 years experience in the field. I attend IEP meetings; provide inclusion, 1:1 therapy, group therapy, social activities and also behavioral intervention. I also provide staff(therapists), as well as train current staff. I am available in the Charlotte/Gastonia/Fort Mill and surrounding areas in NC. I work directly with parents and include them in the development of their child�s program. More than 10 national autism leadership organizations have come together to form AutismCares, a nationwide disaster relief effort that will potentially assist thousands of Katrina families living with autism. To address the most immediate needs, ”AutismCares – Katrina” is coordinating support for the unique needs of families affected by autism through facilitating temporary / permanent relocation support, mobilizing specialty assistance teams and providing autism-conscious supplies directly to these families and the professionals caring for them.

The Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc (C.A.R.D.) was founded in 1990 by Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh, a renowned psychologist. CARD is one of the largest organizations in the world providing treatment to children with Autism, PDD and Asperger�s Syndrome. At CARD, we strive to help children by developing unique and individualized behavioral programs based on each child�s particular strengths and weaknesses. Our goal is to teach all of our children the functional skills necessary to replace previously learned maladaptive behaviors, enabling them to live independent and productive lives.

North Carolina Endorsed Targeted Case Management and Coummunity Support agency for children and adults with special needs. We provide diagnostic assessments and assist families in applying for state supported service. Carolina Comprehensive Services focus is person-centered growth and development through a variety of professional and community resources. We offer periodic family trainings in Sign Language, Picture Exchange Communication System, Verbal Behavior, and Behavioral Modification.

(AUCDs) serve as a liaison between the academic world and the developmental disabilities service delivery system. AUCDs network with and provide assistance to State Agencies, their local affiliates, and to various nongovermental consumer-based organizations. Most AUCDs provide direct clinical, educational, and other services to individuals and families, or can assist families in finding services.

The Chapel Hill TEACCH Center serves persons with autism spectrum disorders in the northeastern section of the North Carolina Piedmont. Our catchment area includes the counties of Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Orange, Person, Vance, Warren, and the cities of Cary, Morrisville, and Apex in Wake County. We provide services that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual with an autism spectrum disorder and their family. Services available include diagnostic evaluations to determine whether or not an individual has an autism spectrum disorder; education and training such as workshops for parents, teachers, and other professionals focusing on characteristics of autism and intervention strategies, consultation services to programs such as schools or residential communities serving individuals with autism, support services for individuals with autism and their families through parent mentors, support groups, and our “friendship files” (a directory of children interested in meeting other children with an autism spectrum diagnosis), and individual intervention services through our Individual Parent Teaching Sessions and home teaching kit program.

The TEACCH mission is: To enable individuals with autism to function as meaningfully and as independently as possible in the community; To provide exemplary services throughout North Carolina to individuals with autism and their families and those who serve and support them; As a member of the University community, to generate knowledge; to integrate clinical services with relevant theory and research; and to disseminate information about theory, practice, and research on autism through training and publications locally, nationally and internationally.
