This organization was created in 2002 by Patricia A. Wigney, a dedicated parent who traveled the Pacific Northwest in search of resources to help her autistic daughter. After four years of gathering information and resources she decided to assemble a group of parents and professionals to bring life altering services to one location in her community. Her dream was to have treatments, courses, information, and support easily accessible to the autism community. |

AUCDs network with and provide assistance to State Agencies, their local affiliates, and to various nongovermental consumer-based organizations. Most AUCDs provide direct clinical, educational, and other services to individuals and families, or can assist families in finding services. |
