ACCEL is a private, non-profit, special education school providing educational, behavioral and therapeutic services to over 200 students, ages 3-21, with cognitive, emotional, orthopedic, and/or behavioral disabilities. Incorporated in 1980, the agency has grown to four sites in Maricopa County.

Home-based physical, occupational and speech therapy for children.

Family Centered approach to assessment and treatment for children with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, adoption and foster care, and young children with FTT. Evaluations and ongoing treatment as well as assistance with advocacy for children and adolescents with problems of learning and behavior including but not limited to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, including co-existing conditions of learning, behavior, anxiety, mood; children with pervasive developmental disorders including childhood autism, Aspergers Syndrome, Atypical Autism, Autistic Spectrum Disorders; children who are adopted nationally or internationally; children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Fragile-X and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and related disorders; and young children with feeding disorders and poor growth.

The Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP) is the statewide system of services and supports for families of infants and toddlers, birth to three years of age, with disabilities or delays. The purpose of early intervention is to help families help their children develop to their full potential.

Neurofeedback training

ASAP is a non profit community organization for children with alternative learning abilities and behavior challenges including but not limited to the autism spectrum. ASAP combines equine facilitated therapy with sensory integration for a unique program which is designed especially for children on the autism spectrum or with any other alternative learning abilities. Our weekly sessions include two classes, one hour of horseback riding and one hour of color, sound and art therapy as well as our parent support group.

Behavior Analysis, Inc. (BAI) is one of the leading behavioral consulting companies in the world. We also conduct training courses, workshops, and seminars designed to teach others how to provide the most effective education and treatment possible. Our staff are experts in behavior analysis, special populations (e.g., autism, ADD/ADHD), education, parent training, staff performance management, and behavioral systems design. BAI provides education, training, treatment, and consultation services to individual families, public and private agencies, and other behavioral and non-behavioral professionals. We provide clinical services and training throughout the world.

Big Fun is the ultimate playground for special needs individuals of all ages. In 1999, Occupational Therapist Gene Hurwin combined his knowledge of pediatric development and 20 years of coaching expertise to create BIG FUN. Gymnastics was the unique tool Gene used to reach out to the special needs community, whose enthusiastic response led him to dedicate himself to expanding BIG FUN into a nationally recognized organization. Gene’s goal was “to provide students the opportunity to break through the boundaries of presumed limits by creating a world of excitement, discovery, and self-confidence within a safe and nurturing environment.” BIG FUN accomplishes this goal by using recreational activities as a process to address and improve motor planning, organizational behavior, and sensory integration. Students are carefully matched with instructors, allowing them to grow through strong personal bonds. These instructors use sensitivity and compassion to help students feel skilled, competent, and capable of mastery.

ABA services for individuals on the autism spectrum

The Children's Center offers services to children, ages 3-22 (preschool through highschool), who have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum, moderately or severely mentally retarded, emotionally disabled, and/or multiply-disabled with severe sensory impairment or traumatic brain injury. Services are offered to those in the Phoenix area and in central Arizona. The Children's Center offers a state-certified special education school as well as individual therapy services consisting of Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Music Therapy. Auditory Integration Training is avaliable off site.

Dr. Nicholls is a pediatric/child neuropsychologist with over 25 years of experience in performing psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations for children from infancy through adulthood.
