The mission of ASSET (Autism Society of Southeast Tennessee) is to promote lifelong access and opportunity for all individuals within the autism spectrum, and their families, to be fully participating, included members of their community through advocacy, public awareness, education, and research related to autism.

She's a real go-getter and a tremendous advocate. When her daughter was diagnosed with PDD-NOS three years ago, there were scant resources for parents who needed answers. Even among the medical community and the school systems. No one seemed to know where to go or who to talk to. Ms. Wootton has played a large roll in establishing and maintaining this support system. She has done this for her daughter and for all parents of newly-diagnosed children.

The East Tennessee Chapter is composed entirely of volunteers. We are parents and professionals working together to try to provide as clear a picture of the disability as possible, the best ways of dealing with the challenge and the ways the citizens in the community can help.

We are passionate about meeting the needs of those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and their loved ones. We are also dedicated to making sure that the phrase, "AUTISM IS TREATABLE" becomes a well known fact, and common knowledge. Our goal is not only to provide critically necessary early intervention and life-long services and assistance, but also to educate our communities about the treatability of ASD's.

Autism Solution Center, Inc. provides all autism-related interventions under one roof and at No Cost! Our goal is to make sure everyone with an autism spectrum disorder has access to appropriate, early, intensive intervention as well as education and training for loved ones and service providers. ASC believes every individual should have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, regardless of their ability to pay.

More than 10 national autism leadership organizations have come together to form AutismCares, a nationwide disaster relief effort that will potentially assist thousands of Katrina families living with autism. To address the most immediate needs, ”AutismCares – Katrina” is coordinating support for the unique needs of families affected by autism through facilitating temporary / permanent relocation support, mobilizing specialty assistance teams and providing autism-conscious supplies directly to these families and the professionals caring for them.

Beyond the Limits, An Autism Resource Connection provides leading-edge information about biomedical research, tests and treatment options for autism spectrum disorders and an application for available grant money to help defray the costs of those interventions. (Grants available to Tennesseans only).

The Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities (BCDD) is an interdisciplinary program that supports children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families through training, service, applied research, information dissemination, planning, and policy development.

Evaluation and treatment of autism spectrum disorders. Today CHS operates 20 locations in 11 counties. More than 500 professional and support staff members, including psychologists, physicians, social workers, nurses and specialists in public health, comprise the ranks of this health services corporation. A wide array of comprehensive primary care and mental health programs and services is encompassed beneath the umbrella of Cherokee Health Systems.

Families for Early Autism Treatment (F.E.A.T.) organized in 1998 to help families with children who have received the diagnosis of autism or other autistic spectrum disorders including Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) and Asperger's Syndrome. The Chattanooga F.E.A.T. Chapter is composed of parents and professionals concerned about the welfare of autistic children. The monthly meetings at T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital offer support and encouragement by providing information and by giving parents the opportunity to interact with others with similar concerns.

Heart For Autism provides the building blocks to assisting families with children that have autism. We have on call consultants that are able to help you with implementing and running a home based ABA program. All of our consultants have children with autism and each have incredible stories to help encourage you throughout your journey of helping your autistic children grow.

I am a Senior Psychology Major who will go on to do a masters/doctorate work who provides ABA/VB in my home for 2-3 hours, offer social skills classes, educational workshops on natural environment training and aba/vb, will provide consultation for families that cannot afford a consultant - consultation is $20 an hour ABA/VB therapy is $15 an hour - contact me at kmbrlykoch@aol.com about social skills classes.
