The Alaska Autism Resource Center (AARC) is a resource provided by the Special Education Service Agency (SESA) located in Anchorage, Alaska.

Parent suport organization focused on helping families experiencing autism. Monthly support group meetings, training and community events.

Thoughtful Therapies: We offer HANDLE, EFT and CranioSacral Therapy. We also do training. HANDLE is a comprehensive neurodevelopmental approach that looks for and treats the root cause of different functioning using Gentle Enhancement. Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) uses tapping on acupuncture meridian endpoints while addressing the issues at hand. It is particularly helpful for parents dealing with stress and anxiety. CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle hands on approach that helps the body adjust to address physical and emotional issues. Each of these approaches have been used successfully for those on the Autism Spectrum.

Maintains an information Center, disseminates current legal rights information throughout Alaska, and gives presentations at conferences held in Alaska.

As one of 800 chapters across the nation, our organization works to ensure that the estimated 7.2 million Americans with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the services and supports they need to grow, develop and live in communities across the nation. These services include early intervention, health care, a free appropriate public education and supports for their families.

This program has been developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts and utilizes principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to change behavior. ABA is backed by over 40 years of research and is still considered to be the most effective treatment for dealing with behaviors. I will strive to teach skills that foster independence in the people she serves. Together with family, schools, professionals and community members, we work as a team to provide the best quality of life for each individual.
