St. Mark United Methodist Church sponsors a respite care program in Birmingham. We care for children ages birth-13 with disabilities and chronic/terminal illnesses, and their siblings. We provide this care the first Friday of every month and it is free to the community. The program is run through 4 teams. Each team consists of 12-20 trained members and at least 2 medical professionals. Each team takes it's turn once every 4 months. |
