The Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services' (ADRS) mission is to enable Alabama's children and adults with disabilities to achieve their maximum potential. We are the only state agency in the country that offers a comprehensive array of medical, educational, psychological, vocational, technological and independent living services for children and adults with disabilities from birth through old age. ADRS is comprised of seven major divisions: Computer Services, Accounting and Purchasing, Human Resources, Legal, Early Intervention System, Children's Rehabilitation Service and Vocational Rehabilitation Service. Easter Seals children's services help kids with disabilities succeed in school. Easter Seals employment programs help people learn job skills and enter the workplace. Easter Seals physical medicine and rehabilitation services help people return to their everyday lives. Easter Seals services are comprehensive and individualized to meet each client's needs, family-focused to meet each family member's concerns, outcome-oriented with a goal of enhanced independence, and cost-effective benefiting from public support.

ADvocate/ Consultant/Service Provider for Asperger Syndrome and High-Functioning Autism

Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) is a state and federally funded program housed within ADRS. VRS provides specialized employment services and training to help Alabamians with disabilities get and keep jobs. We also provide general vocational rehabilitation information for all Alabamians.

The Epilepsy Foundation of South Alabama has as its mission to educate and support individuals with epilepsy and their families, to increase awareness in the general community and to facilitate prevention and management of epilepsy.

Provider of in-home and on-site services of applied behavior analysis. Treatment of problem behaviors, skill acquisition, social skills development, etc. Verbal behavior programs written utilizing the ABLLS assessment.

A career exploration program for youth with physical disabilities, ages 8-15. Program sessions are held one to two Saturdays each month from December through July.

To increase the career potential and likelihood of self-sufficiency of Alabamians with physical disabilities, the Lakeshore Foundation developed -- in partnership with the National Organization on Disability -- the community-based Start On Success Alabama (SOSAL) internship program.

Triumph Services, Inc. provides the supports necessary for individuals with developmental disabilities to have meaningful lives. It exists to provide community-based support to individuals with developmental disabilities who are trying to live independently.

The Supported Employment Program at United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham provides adults with the opportunity to become productive members of the community through job placement and support services. Pre-placement services included employment profiles, job development and job matching. On-site support included assistive technology, job coaching and job site modification. Support services are available for all persons throughout their employment.

Volunteers of America is a national nonprofit, spiritually based organization providing local human service programs, and opportunities for individual and community involvement.

The purpose of Workshops, Inc. is to provide vocational training, sheltered employment, and other support services to people with disabilities in Central Alabama, enabling them to achieve their potential for self sufficiency.
