Established in 1985, the University of Connecticut's A.J. Pappanikou Center is one of 61 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs) across the nation. Our center has the following areas of emphasis:

Currently, the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services provides the core funding for UCEDDs.

The Connecticut Coalition for Inclusive Education (CCIE) is a visionary organization advocating for quality education in general education classes and related activities in neighborhood schools for students with disabilities. The Coalition supports all students in becoming full participating members of society. The Coalition believes that inclusion is a right and is the underlying philosophy by which we educate all students.

Connecticut Families for Effective Autism Treatment (CT FEAT) is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers. We provide Connecticut families with information and networking opportunities.

The Connecticut (CT) Parent Advocacy Center, Inc. (CPAC) is a statewide nonprofit organization that offers information and support to families of children with any disability or chronic illness, age birth through 21.

Connecticut Families for Effective Autism Treatment (CT FEAT) is a non-profit organization created to provide information and support to the families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Principal goals: to provide information and resources that enable families to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of current treatment approaches; to support families seeking or implementing behavioral intervention programs; to expand the availability of high quality professional services by supporting education and training opportunities in applied behavior analysis (ABA); to increase public awareness regarding the high incidence of Autism Spectrum Disorders and the availability of effective, scientifically validated treatments.

Though much has changed over the years, Eden's mission remains the same - to provide a comprehensive continuum of lifespan services designed to enable children and adults with autism to lead fulfilling, productive and independent lives in their communities, to the full extent of their abilities.

The Epilepsy Foundation will ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; and will prevent, control and cure epilepsy through research, education, advocacy, and services.

FAVAN is the Farmington Valley Aspergers Network, a support group for parents of children with Asperger's Syndrome, PDD-NOS, and other forms of Autism.
