The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a professional medical organization comprised of child and adolescent psychiatrists. The mission of the AACAP is the promotion of mentally healthy children, adolescents and families through research, training, advocacy, prevention, comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, peer support and collaboration.

We have two offices. In addtion to the Washington, DC location, as set forth above, we are also in Bethesda, MD at Wildwood Medical Center, Suite 208, 10401 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD, 20814. We provide assessment (diagnosis and school evalutations), therapy and consultation for children on the spectrum, and their families. We work in partnership with families from diagnosis to advocacy. Social skills, and parent support groups, and individual interventions are also available.

The DSC is an outpatient service offered through the CYAS/Department of Pediatrics to provide medical/developmental services in the context of well-child care and to insure early identification of children who have or who are at risk of having developmental delays.

NICHCY stands for the National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities. We serve the nation as a central source of information on: disabilities in infants, toddlers, children, and youth,
IDEA, which is the law authorizing special education,
No Child Left Behind (as it relates to children with disabilities), and research-based information on effective educational practices.

Anyone can use our services—families, educators, administrators, journalists, students. Our special focus is children and youth (birth to age 22).

The Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development (GUCCHD) was established over four decades ago to improve the quality of life for all children and youth, especially those with, or at risk for, special needs and their families. Located in the nation's capital, this exceptional center both directly serves vulnerable children and their families, as well as influences local, state, national and international programs and policy. The GUCCHD is a designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities for the District of Columbia.
