The Division of Developmental Pediatrics at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children provides diagnostic evaluation, treatment plans, and therapy for infants, preschoolers, and school-age children who may have a wide variety of developmental or behavioral problems. Emphasis is on evaluation of the child from infancy to age 6, but older children may be accepted. Fellowship-trained developmental pediatricians evaluate neurologic, genetic, and general medical factors affecting childrens development. In addition, the medical staff screens children for age-appropriate developmental levels and psychosocial factors that may contribute to the presenting problem. The medical staff may recommend further, in-depth multidisciplinary evaluation if indicated.

The Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative (DATI) connects Delawareans who have disabilities with the tools they need in order to learn, work, play and participate in community life safely and independently.

I assist families in planning for the financial future of their child or other dependent with special needs. This requires indepth knowledge of the federal laws as they pertain to government benefit eligibility, legal documents such as special needs trusts and guardianships, as well as financial considerations for providing not just lifetime care, but quality of life.

The HAND Foundation pledges to support Delaware Families affected by Autism who have chosen to provide educational/treatment therapies other than that currently provided by the State.
