The Adaptive Learning Center maximizes the potential of young children with disabilities, and creates awareness and acceptance between people with and without disabilities. ALC achieves this through:

* An early intervention program that integrates therapy and education in warm, nurturing, inclusive preschools.
* Support services that help family members understand and cope with issues related to raising a child with special needs.
* Education and consultation to help communities build resources that foster acceptance and support of people with differences and empower them to become active, contributing citizens.

Special Education Advocate serving the following counties in Georgia: Hall, Forsyth, Dawson, Bartow, DeKalb, Fulton, Rockdale and will consult in Gwinett.
I assist parents with IEP's, meetings, consulting, educating, understanding the law, goal writing, and vision statements for their children.

improve systems of supports and services; connect families; inspire
communities; and influence public policy.”

The chapter is a group of parents and professionals working together to increase public awareness and improve services statewide for individuals with autism. The Greater Georgia Chapter is a unit of the national Autism Society of America.

ASA-GGC is the leading voice and resource of the Georgia Autism Community in education, advocacy, services, research, and support. ASA-GGC is committed to meaningful participation and self-determination in all aspects of life for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

Coastal Autism Therapy Center provides ABA services in Southeastern Georgia and South Carolina to individuals with autism and other related disorders.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Georgians with epilepsy/seizure disorders. Based in Atlanta, the Foundation focuses on: educating the professional and general community about epilepsy through annual symposiums and programs held throughout the state; providing outreach through a statewide network of support groups; and assisting in quality of life issues through specialty camps for children/adults and medical referrals.

The Georgia Advocacy Office (GAO) is a private non-profit corporation. Its mission is to work with and for oppressed and vulnerable individuals in Georgia who are labeled as disabled or mentally ill to secure their protection and advocacy. GAO's work is mandated by Congress, and GAO has been designated by Georgia as the agency to implement Protection and Advocacy within the state.

Georgia Asperger's Organization is located in Winder, GA and functions as a parent led organization serving person's and families of Asperger's or HFA (High Functioning Autism).
We provide advocacy support, parent mentoring skills, and resources. Our mission is strengthening families and bridging them together through building healthy relationships with schools, local businesses, and faith based organization's.
We host monthly support groups, training work shops, and educational seminars to better equip, empower, educate and encourage our youth and young adults.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 7:00 -8:30 pm at Barrow Regional Medical Center, located at 316 North Broad Street, in Winder, Ga 30680.
During the time that our parents are meeting and networking, our youth and young adults will be connecting together by receiving and developing social, communication, and life skills through Role Play, Play Therapy, and Social Skills Curriculum’s.

Our mission is to enrich the lives of people and their families by providing information, advocacy and support which create choices to participate in the life of the community.

Governmental agency; The Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities, Georgia's DD Council, is the state planning council created by a federal mandate through the Developmental Disabilities Act. The Council is a separate state agency attached to the Georgia Department of Human Resources for administrative purposes. The Council is charged with creating systems change for people with developmental disabilities and their families to: Increase independence, inclusion, integration, and productivity for people with disabilities through such activities as public policy research, analysis, and reform, project demonstrations, and education and training.

HIT SERVICES provides programs which are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual child by determining their unique pattern of strengths and weaknesses, so they may reach their maximum potential.

HIT SERVICES provides early intensive intervention for children from age 2 to age 7 at intake/diagnosis, and who have been diagnosed with autism or a related disorder. Children above the chronological age of 7 at intake are considered on an individual basis.
HIT SERVICES focuses on communication and verbal behavior, learning readiness, and reduction of problem behaviors. Social development and interactive play skills are also core components of the program.

AUCD formerly UAP(University Affiliated Programs) are authorized by federal legislation to help States and local communities respond to the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families.(AUCDs) serve as a liaison between the academic world and the developmental disabilities service delivery system. AUCDs network with and provide assistance to State Agencies, their local affiliates, and to various nongovermental consumer-based organizations. Most AUCDs provide direct clinical, educational, and other services to individuals and families, or can assist families in finding services.

Kicklighter Resource Center exists to improve the quality of life for children and adults with mental retardation, autism, and other developmental disabilities through advocacy, family support, community education, and direct services.

The Learning Disabilities Association of Georgia, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt organization which includes parents, professionals, and individuals with learning disabilities. LDAG is dedicated to identifying causes and promoting prevention of learning disabilities and to enhancing the quality of life for all individuals with learning disabilities and their families by encouraging effective identification and intervention, fostering research, and protecting their rights under the law. The organization shares knowledge, disseminates information, and advocates for individuals with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder.
