The Autism Society of Hawaii was re-established in 1992 as a chapter affiliate of the Autism Society of America. The Society is composed of family members, individuals with autism spectrum disorders, professionals and community agencies and organizations. Assisting individuals having difficulties in understanding the State and Federal Laws; Attends IEP Mtgs.; Mediations, Hearings, Referrals to Attorneys if necessary; Trainings-individual or groups. Refferal Information to other services.

The mission of the Developmental Disabilities Division (DDD) is to assure there is a state system of supports and services for persons with developmental disabilities or mental retardation (DD/MR), which includes principles of self-determination and incorporates individualized funding, person-centered planning and community services.

We provide assessments, tutoring, consultation to parents and schools for kids with special needs. We are a No Child Left Behind provider, utilize many methodologies including Lindamood-Bell, Fast Forward, and multi-sensory reading/comprehension techniques.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii (EFH) provides direct services to individuals with seizure disorders. It is estimated that over 18,000 Hawaii residents suffer from epilepsy and over 75,000 people are touched by it. For over 20 years the EFH has provided information and educational services to individuals and groups with questions pertaining to epilepsy.

The EFH is a private, nonprofit agency, whose mission is to increase public awareness of epilepsy and to build a sense of community, enabling persons with epilepsy to participate fully in the community at large.

Independent Living Centers are typically non-residential, private, non-profit, consumer-controlled, community-based organizations providing services and advocacy by and for persons with all types of disabilities. Their goal is to assist individuals with disabilities to achieve their maximum potential within their families and communities.

The Autism Society of Hawaii is committed to educating service providers and the community about autism spectrum disorders, as well as advocating for and supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families.

The sole mission of the Hawaii Disability Rights Center is to protect and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, as established in the constitutions and laws of the State of Hawaii and the United States. HDRC is a private non-profit public interest organization established in 1977. It is authorized in federal and state law, is designated by the Governor, and funded by the federal and state governments and private sources, to fulfill its mandate.

Hawaii branch of parent to parent organization.Parent to Parent programs provide emotional and informational support to families of children who have special needs most notably by matching parents seeking support with an experienced, trained 'Supporting Parent'.
