State Agency. The ASK Family Resource Center is an exciting new concept; a "one-stop-shop" for children and adults with disabilities and their families. Through its member organizations, the ASK Resource Center provides a broad range of information, advocacy, support, training, and direct services. These services are all accessible in one building or from one phone call. A single contact can direct individuals or families to the most appropriate services and supports to meet their needs. No frustrating series of dead end contacts. No duplication of valuable limited resources.

The mission of the Autism Society of Iowa is to provide advocacy, support and information to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, their families, professionals, and communities throughout the state of Iowa.

Our mission is to assist the Quad Cities Community to develop and maintain the following: Promote lifelong access and opportunities for persons within the autism spectrum and their families, to be fully included, participating members of the greater Quad Cities Community through advocacy, public awareness, and education.

The Disability Resource Library (DRL) is a resource for people of all ages with disabilities of all kinds. It is also a resource for families, and for the service providers with whom they work.

State Agency

ASA is dedicated to increasing public awareness about autism and the day-to-day issues faced by individuals with autism, their families and the professionals with whom they interact. The Society and its chapters share a common mission of providing information and education, and supporting research and advocating for programs and services for the autism community.

The Autism Society of Iowa is a statewide non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Iowa Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health is a statewide family advocay organization. We provide family supportservices, training, information and referral, mentoring. We assist families who have children and youth with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.

Iowa Respite and Crisis Care Coalition partners with Prevent Child Abuse Iowa and the Department of Human Services as well as private individuals like you to help families get a short break. Respite Care services provide termporary relief to parents or caregivers of individuals with a disability, special need, or chronic illness.

Improve the health and independence of people with disabilities and advance the community systems on which they rely.

AUCD formerly UAP(University Affiliated Programs) are authorized by federal legislation to help States and local communities respond to the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families.(AUCDs) serve as a liaison between the academic world and the developmental disabilities service delivery system. AUCDs network with and provide assistance to State Agencies, their local affiliates, and to various nongovermental consumer-based organizations. Most AUCDs provide direct clinical, educational, and other services to individuals and families, or can assist families in finding services.

The Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa is dedicated to identifying causes and promoting prevention of learning disabilities and to enhancing the quality of life for all individuals with learning disabilities and their families by:

-Encouraging effective identification and intervention,

-Fostering research

-Protecting the rights of individuals with learning disabilities under the law.

Social language groups for high functioning autism/Aspergers studetns grades Pre-K through 12. Tutoring all grades, all subjects one-on-one only.

PTI is a federally-funded grant project from the U.S. Department of Education. PTI provides training and information that meets the needs of parents of children with disabilities in Iowa. We focus particularly on underserved families and parents of children who may be inappropriately identified. PTI provides training opportunities on the Individuals with Disabilities Eduction Act (IDEA) of 1997. This training makes clear the availability of, and how to effectively use proceedural safegards under IDEA '97, including alternative methods of dispute resolution, as described in the Act. PTI assists parents to better understand their children's disability and educational development.

The Autism Society is a nonprofit organization comprised of families, individuals diagnosed within the autism spectrum and professionals interested in supporting and educating others about this common developmental disorder. The local Autism Society of the Quad Cities group provides resources, advocacy, information and referrals for the community of the greater Quad City area.
