Comprehensive autism treatment center

The HANDS in Autism program focuses on non-clinical, educational, and research services. General informational and traditional learning opportunities are available to develop community awareness and knowledge about the disorder. The distinct focus of the program is on providing hands-on learning opportunities for professionals as well as establishing coaching and mentoring relationships conducive to the building of local capacity in the application of the knowledge gained. The programs offered seek to address the various levels of learning appropriate to the variety of consumer needs and learning styles

The mission of the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community is to work with communities to welcome, value, and support the meaningful participation of people of all ages and abilities through research, education, and service. Provides training and technical assistance, develops and disseminates information and conducts research.

The Indiana Resource Center for Autism staff conduct outreach training and consultations, engage in research, and develop and disseminate information on behalf of individuals across the autism spectrum, including autism, Asperger's syndrome, and other pervasive developmental disorders. Our efforts are focused on providing communities, organizations, agencies, and families with the knowledge and skills to support children and adults in typical early intervention, school, community, work, and home settings.

The RCDC (Riley Child Development Center) is part of a national network of training programs providing intensive interdisciplinary assessment services funded by the Bureau of Maternal and Child Health. Its mission is to support the independence, productivity, and integration into the community of all citizens across the lifespan with developmental disabilities.

Our focus is to serve children of all levels of functioning while providing an educational setting that allows them to achieve their individual potentials. The program is comprehensive - aimed at enhancing language and communication, social/play, pre-academic and independent living skills of young children so that they may take better advantage of opportunities in their communities and may require less professional attention as they grow older.

The Riley Child Development Center (RCDC) of the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana is located in the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children (Riley Hospital) on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI). Riley Hospital, a Clarian Health Partner, is a nationally recognized center of excellence in pediatric teaching, continuing community education, clinical health care and research related to the broad spectrum of conditions impacting on the health of mothers, children and families in Indiana and the nation.

The Developmental Pediatrics Program at Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University Medical Center, provides evaluation and treatment for children who are at risk for developmental and feeding problems due to birth defects or other handicapping conditions. Our program brings together pediatric experts from many areas, who work closely with each family and with the child's primary care physician to provide a personalized program of care for each child.

We are a professional parent led group that meets the 1st. Thursday of every month at 6:30pm. The group facilitator is a board member of the Autism Society of Indiana and LDA-Learning Disabilities of American. Group facilitator is also a certified Advocate through InSource. We discuss behavioral strategies, Sensory Processing Dis., developmental delays, biomedical, as well as optional therapies. And a wonderful group of parents.

We offer a neurodevelopmental intervention called Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) Program to families of children, adolescents, and adults. We also offer joint attention intervention for those not doing an RDI Program as well as general autism support services.
