Adventure Music Therapy (AMT) is a private business specializing in, but not limited to, children with autism and/or developmental delays. The goal of AMT is to provide an effective treatment towards the progression of health and well-being for various populations. AMT also strives to educate about music therapy and be a resource in the community.

AMT is led by Meredith Ibarra, a board certified music therapist. The services provided by AMT include traditional music therapy sessions, in home programming with the implementation of discrete trial training and adaptive instrument lessons. The focus of AMT is to provide a quality service in a fun and interactive environment.

Arrowhead West, Inc., (AWI) is a not for profit organization which serves children ages birth to three and adults over the age of eighteen with developmental disabilities. Common developmental disabilities are mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, head injury and multiple physical disabilities. We also serve young children who have substantial developmental delays or specific cognitive or acquired conditions which could result in developmental disabilities if our services were not provided.

Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities programs provide long-term, graduate level interdisciplinary training to health professionals . The purpose is to develop leadership potential to improve the health status of infants, children, and adolescents with or at risk for neurodevelopmental and related disabilities and to enhance the systems of care for these children and their families. The program focuses on health conditions of mental retardation, neurodegenerative and acquired neurological disorders and multiple handicaps. All LEND Programs operate within a university system and most have collaborative arrangements with local university hospitals, children's hospitals, and/or health care centers.

Diagnostic services are available, without regard to family income, to Kansas youth under the age of 21 years who are suspected to have a severe disability, or chronic disease. Prior authorization is required and may be obtained by phone or letter from program staff.

DSNWK as the Community Disability Organization (CDDO) assures the provision of quality services and programs to more than 500 individuals with mild to severe disabilities. I have a strong passion for using applied behavior analysis in the field of education, especially in communication/verbal behavior, play, and social skills. I love working with families, caretakers, and school staff to bring about lasting change and improvement in the lives of children! I provide consultation services for young children and their families seeking early intensive behavioral intervention in Johnson County, eastern Douglas County, and northern Miami County in Kansas. I am willing to travel farther, depending on whether or not I have other clients in the area or close to the area I am requested (CURRENTLY, I am also available to work in the North Kansas City area).
I design and implement behavioral interventions for young children with developmental and behavioral disabilities; develop curriculum to train parents, tutors, paraprofessionals, implementers in methods and strategies of interventions as well as data collection; run team meetings and workshops related to specific needs of each child; Programs I design include but are not limited to: verbal communication, independence, social skills, self-help skills, leisure skills, academics. I also participate in developing Individualized Education Plans and have experience working with Educational Advocates

At Heartspring School, in conjunction to the sending school district or agency, we design each student's educational program based on the child's strengths, weaknesses and needs. The program is delivered through an integrated team approach involving the residential school, psychology, therapy and medical staff. With the active participation of parents and sending school district or agency, an IEP is developed based on the students needs.

The Irlen Method has been effective in reducing or eliminating perceptual distortions which plague those who suffer from PDD conditions. The method asks for a parental inventory, some preliminary contact to familiarize the affected person with the environment, and work with filters (colored lenses) to promote focus and decrease stemming behaviors.
