We are the parents and family members of individuals with disabilities. These disabilities include physical, mental, emotional, behavioral and/or other health impairments.

Families Helping Families of Northeast Louisiana, Inc. is a network of families in the Northeast Louisiana area who, because of their own experiences, have become committed to reaching out to individuals with disabilities and their families.

The mission of Families Helping Families of Northeast Louisiana, Inc. is to provide information and referral, education and training, and peer to peer support to individuals with disabilities and their families.

Mercy Family Center is a child and adolescent outpatient behavioral health clinic with locations in the Greater New Orleans area and on the North Shore. Founded in 1992, Mercy Family Center serves children and their families from all parts of Louisiana and Southern Mississippi. Psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers offer a range of services including individual and family counseling, psycho-educational testing, medication management, and behavioral consultation for parents and teachers. Mercy Family Center is a primary referral site in New Orleans for the identification and treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), Autism Spectrum Disorders including PDD, and other childhood disorders.

We are a parent-driven support organization. Our primary goal is to increase public awareness and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders. We do not charge dues and support our work through donations. We have an extensive lending library of resources (check Local Resources on our web page). We host monthly support group meetings (child care is provided), host social events for our kids, publish a quarterly newsletter, and distribute autism news daily via e-mail.

The Child Assessment Center was developed to address the need for assessment of children who are, or might be, at risk for learning or developmental disability or delay. The Center provides an opportunity for early intervention, which leads to greater success in treatment. The goal of this center is to help children reach their full potential as quickly as possible.

The Center also serves as an educational and advocacy resource for parents, teachers, counselors and others who need more information on identifying children at risk.

Valerie Burton, MD, a neurodevelopmental pediatrician, leads a multidisciplinary assessment team which may include a psychologist, physical therapist, speech therapist or occupational therapist.

Pediatric physical therapy clinic providing services to birth to age 21. Our passion is to provide our children with the best quality care possible. We join hand in hand with physicians, families, and caregivers so as to ensure the best possible outcome. Our center provides pediatric Occupational and Speech Therapy, along with Mental Health Counseling for all ages and areas of need. We also have inhouse an educational tutor and certified massage therapist. We would embrace the opportunity to serve you and your family.
