At Abilities, our definition of service and quality begins in the therapy room with a professional and dedicated speech pathologist, occupational therapist, or special educator, but extends beyond the therapy room. We provide many services and programs in the process of diagnosing and treating communication, sensory, motor, reading, writing and hearing disorders.

Access To Better Communication (ABC)
is a Professional Speech Language Pathology Group located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. ABC offers a variety of speech and language services for young children including screenings, evaluations and therapy. ABC is also pleased to announce that two of their speech-language pathologist are currently going through the certification process for Relationship Development Intervention (RDI). Both consultants will complete their training in August of 2006 and are currently taking new families.

The Sunflower Social Club is a small ABA play group for children with PDD-NOS, mild Autism, and Aspergers. There are two groups, one for ages 3-5 and one for ages 6-9. Each group meets for one hour, one time a week. During that hour, children will learn play and social skills that are appropriate for their age group and developmental level.

The Sunflower Social Club strives to create a fun environment where kids with ASD can meet one another, interact, and learn from each other. Using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), these play groups include parents as an integral part of the learning and playing experience. Lead by an experience BCBA, parents will learn how to help their child learn appropriate social skills and to interact appropriately in a small group of peers.

The Behavioral Intervention Group is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and provides applied behavior analysis and verbal behavior services to families and schools with preschool-aged children diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities. Our clients not only receive the best evidence-based treatments designed and individualized for each child, but because we are a local company will also benefit from frequent supervision, on-going training and continual support from experienced board certified professionals.

Autism Learning Center offers ABA and VB Therapy along with consultations, assessments, IEP advocacy, academic programs, summer programs, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Skills Training, Workshops and Parent Training.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Leslie C. Higgins, Psy.D. provides individualized assessment and treatment for youth with Asperger's Disorder. Emphasis is on the use of Collaborative Problem Solving. Dr. Higgins has advanced training and ongoing supervision in the Collaborative Problem Solving approach outlined in the book, The Explosive Child, by Ross Greene,Ph.D. and Stuart Ablon, Ph.D. Extensive experience and training in ADHD and disruptive behavior disorders benefits the particularly challenging patient.
