Although Abilities Network has been providing services to children with autism and their families for years through our Project ACT, Family Support Services, and Community & Employment Partners programs, our new Autism Waiver services specifically address the challenges faced by children with autism and their families. The specific areas addressed under Abilities Network�s new Autism Waiver services include Intensive Individual Support Services, and Family Training. Within these categories, families have access to the sort of hands-on services needed to allow their children to achieve at their maximum level in all areas of their lives. Autism centered trainings and services for a child and their family may focus specifically on behavior shaping and management, daily living skills, socialization, mobility, and self-direction.

Under Maryland's Autism Waiver, the Center for Social Change provides after school therapeutic intervention to school age children with autism. The program offers play therapy, applied behavior analysis, and sensory integration.
