This group is here to support Maine residence who's lives include and are effected or affected by those with ASD. (Autism Spectrum disorder, including but not limited to Autism, ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, PDD, PDD-NOS ect.) We are here to help in the pursuit of "recovering" or bettering their child's quality of life and to achieve a healthy full functioning future. Information on many biomedical treatments such as DAN(defeat Autism Now)protocol, special diets, (GFCF, SCD, LOD) supplements (Minerals, Amino Acids, Vitamins, EFA's), chelation (DMSA- TD, suppository and oral, DMPS- TD, suppository, and oral, NDF+ ect), secretin, allergy reduction, both IGG and IGE avoidance and elimination, as well as rotation helps can be found here. We cover subjects on Immune system boosting, hormonal info as related to autism, endocrine and GI as well. We can swap recipes for special diets, do Co-op orders to save money on foods, specialty products, vitamins, minerals, probiotics, EFA's, amino acids, and other supplemental needs by mail order and local health food stores (HFS). We are also here to help support the families emotional needs with all we go through while caring for our family members with special needs. we can unite to advocate for things that are helping our kids to be covered by things like Mainecare, and to support others in pursuing SSI to help with the ever growing costs to help our children's medical needs be meet. I hope that all that join can find this place to be a refuge and strength for their families.

For nearly 50 years, the caring professionals at May Institute have set a national standard for providing comprehensive, research-based services to children with autism, mental retardation, and other developmental disabilities. The May Center in Freeport provides educational services to children (2-8) using the principles of applied behavior analysis. We offer family support services, school-based consultation and training, and intensive home-based services. Ninety-five percent of age-appropriate students with autism graduate from the Center and enter public schools each fall.
