Adult Continuing Education for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (ACED) offers adults the opportunity to attend non-credit classes in an educational and social environment. The ACED program is designed to teach independent living skills and provide life-enhancing experiences. ACED is offered by the UMKC Institute for Human Development, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, and Metropolitan Community College-Longview, with funding from the Jackson County Board of Services.

Behavior Connections is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with autism and their families in the St. Louis area through the use of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Behavior Connections aims to give families the knowledge and tools to teach functional life skills, solve and prevent behavior problems, and involve everyone as contributing members of the family. Training is always conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The family selects their own goals and the training focuses on meeting the goals and maintaining trained skills to enhance the lives of everyone involved.
