Adult Continuing Education for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (ACED) offers adults the opportunity to attend non-credit classes in an educational and social environment. The ACED program is designed to teach independent living skills and provide life-enhancing experiences. ACED is offered by the UMKC Institute for Human Development, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, and Metropolitan Community College-Longview, with funding from the Jackson County Board of Services.

The mission of the Judevine? Center for Autism is to make a real difference in the quality of life for children and adults with autism and their families wherever they may live.

Behavior Connections is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with autism and their families in the St. Louis area through the use of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Behavior Connections aims to give families the knowledge and tools to teach functional life skills, solve and prevent behavior problems, and involve everyone as contributing members of the family. Training is always conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The family selects their own goals and the training focuses on meeting the goals and maintaining trained skills to enhance the lives of everyone involved.

Behavior Solutions' Certified Behavior Analysts have over 20 years combined experience working with individuals with special needs. We provide home-based consultation, behavioral assessments, program development, behavior management, and ongoing education, training, and support for parents, caregivers, and staff members. We work closely with families and other service providers in an effort to create a team approach to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.

We provide a variety of services including training, materials dissemination, technical assistance and consultation. Our mission is to assist in the sucessful implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act by helping individuals, organizations, businesses, local governments and agencies understand their rights and responsibilities under the ADA.

The Disabilities Advocacy and Support Network (The Network), is a parent run support organization. The primary goal of The Network is to provide emotional and educational support, awareness within the community, and a therapeutic social outlet for individuals with development disabilities and their families. The Network has been in existence since 1976 and began as Pilot Parents. We serve the following counties in Missouri: Christian, Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Laclede, Ozark, Polk, Stone, Taney, Webster, and Wright.

The Epilepsy Foundation of St Louis has an active grassroots advocacy network where consumers effect change in the social service delivery system at the local, state, and national levels. Development of services are provided by individual advocacy and systems advocacy.

We are a 501(c)3 organization that provides family support for those in the Southeast MIssouri area whose family member may be affected by autism. We are currently constructing our website and it should be available soon. We have meetings monthly and are currently working with our local PAC (parent advisory committee) to bring better service to the Southeast MIssouri region.

First Steps Pediatrics serves as a community Help-Line for families and agencies in the St. Louis area. Giant Steps of St. Louis, founded in 1994, provides an integrated program of intensive therapeutic intervention and educational support to school-aged children with autism spectrum disorder. Parent support groups meet regularly. The mission of Giant Steps of St. Louis is to empower children with autism spectrum disorder to participate fully in all aspects of life, including home, community and education.

Kenny Rogers Children's Center is well recognized for its leadership role in the treatment of children with special needs and developmental delays. As a leader in the field of pediatric occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, and early intervention, Kenny Rogers Children's Center provides a comprehensive range of on-site and off-site services for more than 340 children with special needs from birth through 21 years of age from 10 counties throughout Southeast Missouri.

Provides information and support to parents, learning disabled individuals and professionals. Monitors and advises on special education legislation at the federal and state levels.
Provides a scholarship for a learning disabled senior planning to attend college. Hosts an Annual State Conference each year in October in conjunction with Learning Disabilities Month.
Provides workshops for parents and professionals.
Promotes awareness, understanding and communication between parents, educators and the community. Advocates the need for appropriate and effective teacher training. Provides publications, pamphlets at cost to members as a service. Publishes the bi-monthly newsletter, "Perspectives." All members also receive the national newsletter, "Newsbriefs" and a newsletter from their local affiliate. Provides a video lending library.
