The Greensboro TEACCH Center serves persons with autism spectrum disorders in the northwestern area of the North Carolina Piedmont. We serve the counties of Alleghany, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin. We provide services that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual with an autism spectrum disorder and their family. Services available include diagnostic evaluations to determine whether or not an individual has an autism spectrum disorder; parent teaching sessions to help parents address specific issues that their children with autism spectrum disorders present, education and training in the form of workshops for parents, teachers, and other professionals focusing on characteristics of autism and intervention strategies, consultation services to programs such as schools or agencies serving individuals with autism, supported employment services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders who are transitioning from school to work, and early intervention home services for parents who have children who may be at risk for autism spectrum disorders. |
