ABC of NC is a private, not-for-profit, research-based provider of quality educational and behavioral services for young children with autism spectrum disorder. The organization uses the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) within a caring environment to help children develop their full potential.

The center uses a curriculum and teaching techniques derived from the principles of behavioral psychology. The application of this science is called applied behavior analysis (ABA).

Our philosophy is to teach children skills, beginning with basics and moving on to more sophisticated, by creating an environment that motivates them to talk and play with their teachers/tutors and then to transfer these skills as soon as possible to peers, siblings and other adults.

We employ a variety of behavioral teaching strategies such as discrete trial training, verbal behavior, natural environment training, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and fluency training. All teaching methods are science based (i.e., proven effective) and individually tailored to the needs of the child.
