The mission of Answers4Families is: to provide information, opportunities for dialogue, education, and support to Nebraskans with special needs and their families; by developing and providing Internet resources; and by encouraging others to do the same.

The Autism Society of Nebraska's Mission is to advocate, educate, support and create awareness for autism and to support families and individuals in the state of Nebraska who face Autism.

The Council focuses on persons who experience a severe disability that occurs before the individual attains the age of 22, which includes persons with physical disabilities, mental/behavioral health conditions and persons that are served by the current state developmental disabilities system. The Council awards grants to various agencies to address gaps and barriers in the system.

Nebraska Advocacy Services, Inc. (NAS) is designated by the Governor to protect and advocate for the human and legal rights of Nebraskans with significant physical or mental disabilities. Frequently, people with severe disabilities encounter barriers which compromise their dignity or violate their rights. The resources available through NAS are used to empower people to overcome those barriers.

The incidence of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) is increasing nationally and Nebraska is no exception. In the late 1990s, educators and parents requested the Special Populations Office of the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) to take a lead role in assisting school districts in providing appropriate services for students with ASD.

The mission of the Nebraska Chapter of the Autism Society of America is to support and advocate for individuals with autism and their families through increasing education and awareness, fundraising, and facilitating community involvement for persons with autism spectrum disorders to achieve their potential by becoming a productive, accepted, and integral part of society.

The Mission of the PTA is three-fold:

-To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;

-To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect children; and

-To encourage parents and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

Our mission is....to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendships with their families, and other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The mission of NSLHA is to promote speech, language, and hearing services in Nebraska, to encourage education and research activities, and to advocate the rights of persons with communication disorders.

The mission of Munroe-Meyer Institute, the Nebraska University Center on Disabilities, is to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities and their families.
