The Academy Learning Center provides specialized, classroom based instruction, based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis for the student with autism or autistic-like behavior. The program involves parents in a collaborative partnership with school staff to provide a consistent approach to the students’ educational and behavioral needs.

Classified students from 3-21 years, with a pervasive developmental disability which significantly impacts language, behavior and social interaction, and is generally evident before the age of three.

Members of NJPA are members of the APA, have either an M.D. or D.O. degree, and have undertaken specialized training in the field of Psychiatry. Fellowship and Distinguished Fellowship are special categories of membership recognizing outstanding achievement in the profession. Board Certification means that the member has completed psychiatry residency training and also passed an examination of proficiency in General Psychiatry, or in one of the subspecialties (such as Geriatric Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, etc.).

This board licenses and regulates marriage and family therapists in New Jersey. The Alcohol and Drug Counselor Committee, which regulates the practice of alcohol and drug counseling in New Jersey, and the Professional Counselor Examiners Committee, which regulates the practice of both professional counseling and rehabilitation counseling in this State, also come under the supervision of the State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners.

The paramount responsibility of the State Board of Medical Examiners is the protection of the public’s health, safety, and welfare. The Board meets its responsibility by licensing medical professionals, adopting regulations, determining standards of practice, investigating allegations of physician misconduct, and disciplining those who do not adhere to requirements - thereby assuring the public that the physicians are qualified, competent, and honest. In addition to physicians, the Board is responsible for the oversight of a number of allied health providers.
