Falcon & Singer P.C., with offices in New Jersey and New York, provides planning services to families of children with special needs, including guardianship, preparation of Special Needs Trusts and other estate and lifetime planning support for families with special children, and advice concerning availability of various government benefits available to children with special needs and their families.

We concentrate in planning for families that have members with special needs and persons with disabilities, with their unique set of circumstances and concerns. Such advice may include planning for eligibility for needs-based programs, such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, Medicare and Section 8 housing. In addition, we assist families in estate planning for transfer of wealth to a child or other family member with special needs so as to avoid jeopardizing the financial eligibility of the person with special needs for such need-based benefits. We prepare appropriate special needs trusts, wills, powers of attorney, letters of intent and other relevant documents. We also assist in obtaining legal guardianship of a person with special needs when necessary. Whenever possible, we strive to serve as a resource to our clients with special needs and their families in terms of identifying other entities, both governmental and non-governmental, that provide services to persons with special needs. In addition, we also represent families in connection with securing special education services to provide their children with special needs attending school with a free and appropriate public education (FAPE).

George M. Holland is an attorney with over a decade of experience working with the disabled. Mr. Holland is a graduate of Rutgers University and Seton Hall University School of Law. Since becoming an attorney, Mr. Holland has focused his practice primarily on representing parents with disabled children in disputes with local school districts. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Holland volunteers his time to several organizations that advocate for the rights of the disabled such as the Association of Retarded Citizens of Essex County, the Association, The Northeast Regional Early Intervention Collaborative and the Association for Special Children and Families.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Holland worked as a Student Intern at Rutgers University's Douglas Developmental Center, as a teacher at the Eden Institute, a private school for Autistic children and adults and as a law clerk for the New York Association for the Help of Retarded Children.

Mr. Holland concentrates his practice in the area of disability law, advocating for the rights of disabled children and adults throughout the State of New Jersey.
