Applied Behavioral Services/ATTC staff is committed to specializing interventions for children on the Autism Spectrum. Our mission is to provide the most intensive and comprehensive service to our children and their families.

Our Staff consists of a unique five part unit including Behavior Analysts, an Occupational Therapist, a Speech and Language Pathologist, a specialized teaching staff as well as a Certified Music Therapist. We believe that with the knowledge, experience and dedication of each one of our staff members working together as one collaborative unit that we are able to provide the utmost qualitative and comprehensive program for children in need.

This is an eight week Social Skills programfor higher functioning young adults on the spectrum ages 17-30. We also have a parent support program and for graduates of the program a reunion the first Wednesday of every month.

The Autism Academy of Learning is structured to provide every student with Autism Spectrum Disorder an appropriate foundation in the areas of academics, behavior, daily living skills, vocational skills, and independence. Diagnostic Services: Children’s Hospital offers a multi-disciplinary diagnostic clinic. We offer the services of Developmental Behavioral Pediatricians, Psychologists that specializes in MR/DD services, Speech Therapists, and Autism Resource Coordinators at one appointment to ensure that families receive comprehensive, high-quality care within one appointment.

Columbus Children’s Hospital also offers diagnostic & cognitive testing through Psychologists that specializes in MR/DD services to help rule out or confirm autism spectrum disorders or assist with recommendations for children previously diagnosed. Additionally, school & behavioral assistance appointments are available.

Treatment: Columbus Children’s Hospital has an Intensive Behavioral Intervention Clinic to provide individualized ABA programs for children 2- 11 diagnosed on the autism spectrum. We also provide individualized services for children of school age & children diagnosed with Asperger’s.

Columbus Children’s Hospital has a staff of Autism Resource Coordinators that help navigate families through the systems—both within the hospital & within the community.
They assist families with finding funding & resources for services within the community. They keep families & health care providers informed of new developments in funding, advocacy & treatment and provide community education & outreach.

ASK is a private consulting agency that specializes in a modified ABA approach to working with individuals with autism. ASK uses a variety of curricula to implement learning in all areas of development, including play, socialization, academics, self help, leisure, recreation, communication and daily living skills. The approach is designed to address the specific needs of families who seek aggressive education for children with disabilities.

Bittersweet Inc. is a care and treatment facility for adolescents and adults with autism. We have five main directorates at Bittersweet: Residential; Vocational; Supported Living and Respite; Advocacy and Supported Employment. Our residential program serves 20 persons in three Medicaid Licensed homes on our main campus. The habilitation program at these facilities happens in the morning and in the evening after completing their work. The residential schedules are full of exercise, academic programs and community outings. Habilitation goals of daily
living and skills of adaptive living such as laundry, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and structured social interaction play a large part in the success of our residential program. Our facility has five supported living homes. The participants come to our main campus for day programming and then go back to homes in the community that they share with other participants. Habilitation and skills development continue through all residential programs just as though they were living in our main campus housing. Bittersweet advocates and helps schools through consulting and planning, working with the local courts to advocate on the rights of individuals with autism. We also consult to groups or families to give them assistance on how to best serve persons with autism. We conduct tours to professionals and students to expose them to our model and perhaps to their first experience to someone with autism. Bittersweet offers Respite Services to families
