A dynamic, multi-faceted resource for specialized care, the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National Institute provides leading-edge services, education and support to individuals, families and professionals throughout the region, the country and the world.

The Center for Autism Research (CAR) is a collaborative effort between Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and The University of Pennsylvania. CAR’s goals are to identify the causes of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and develop effective treatments. CAR conducts research studies for infants at risk for being diagnosed with ASD (due to having a sibling already diagnosed) as well as toddlers, school-aged children, and adults on the autism spectrum. Families receive comprehensive assessment reports and are paid for their time and travel costs. Typically developing children and adults are also needed for comparison purposes.

The Center for Meaning and Relationship provides consultation on drug free, relationship based approaches for autistic children and those with developmental challenges.

Autism consultant to colleges with Asperger's/HFA students. Provide social skills program fdesigned for young adults with AS, NLD, HFA or social anxiety. Programs in Philadelphia and New York City run in Fall, Spring and Summer for 12 weeks.

The Drexel Autism Centerprovides comprehensive evaluations as well as participation in NIH-funded treatment studies appropriate for children diagnosed with PDD/autism. Long term follow up is also available.

Dr. Mitchell provides psychological evaluations, psychoeducational evaluations, professional training/supervision, consultation, program development, research expertise, family therapy, individual therapy, advocacy, and other services for the ASD community. Dr. Mitchell addresses a wide variety of cutting-edge effective interventions such as DTT, TEACHH, Floortime, sensory integration, and so on. Dr. Mitchell maintains associations with Green Tree School and Alternative Choices as well.

Melmark is a comprehensive multi- service provider of residential, educational, therapeutic, and recreational services for children and adults with developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorders, acquired brain injury, other neurological and genetic disorders, and related challenging behaviors. I offer several different services. I am a Pennsylvania Attorney and the mother of three boys, 7, 5, and 23 months. My five year old son has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and my youngest son is entering the early intervention system. I am happy to offer legal services for those who have autism related advocacy needs at a reduced rate,(as a single mother who understands the enormous cost of obtaining proper care and treatment for autism) as well as running a web business, which offers writing services, both legal document preparation, research, and business and personal research and editing services. The Penn State Hershey Autism Center's mission is to promote collaboration between clinicians and researchers throughout the Penn State system and to seek creative, productive ways of utilizing the resources of the university to directly benefit individuals and families living with ASD. The center has a particular emphasis on translational research and innovative clinical services.
