AUCD formerly UAP(University Affiliated Programs) are authorized by federal legislation to help States and local communities respond to the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families.(AUCDs) serve as a liaison between the academic world and the developmental disabilities service delivery system. AUCDs network with and provide assistance to State Agencies, their local affiliates, and to various nongovermental consumer-based organizations. Most AUCDs provide direct clinical, educational, and other services to individuals and families, or can assist families in finding services.

Children's Special Health Services is funded through the federal Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant and state matching funds, and administered by the South Dakota Department of Health. Its goal is to improve health care services for South Dakota children with special health care needs. Pediatric specialists, the primary care physician, registered nurses, social workers, and dietitians work together to provide diagnostic, consultative, and care coordination services. This team works closely with the child's family to help them meet the child's needs. Financial assistance is also available for specified conditions and procedures on a cost-share basis according to family size and income, utilizing the federal poverty guidelines

Music Therapy Services of South Dakota provides research-based and developmentally appropriate music therapy to children and young adults with disabilities. Services range from indvidual and groups sessions, consulting to programs, workshops and inservices. Specialized music instruction is also offered. Music Therapy and related strategies are provided by a board-certified music therapist and registered state service provider.

Respite care can range from a few hours of care provided on a one-time basis to overnight or extended care sessions. Respite care can be utilized on a regular or irregular basis and can be provided by family members, friends, skilled care providers or professionals. Time 2 Shine Therapy specializes in providing occupational and speech therapy services to children ages 2-5 with autism or who may be struggling with behavioral challenges related to communication and sensory processing abilities. We provide this service in small group settings, with no more than 4 children per session. Your child receives these intensive OT and ST services 3 hours per day, 5 days per week for a minimum of 15 hours per week.
Therapy is provided by Occupational Therapist, Julie Klusmann, OTR/L, and Speech Language Pathologist, Paul Graumann, MS,CCC-SLP. We have a combined 34 years of experience working with children with autism, communication, and sensory needs. We have extensive training in ABA techniques utilizing multifaceted aspects of ABA such as discrete trial teaching, incidental teaching, pivotal response training, and verbal behavior as a foundation for all therapy. We also have a thorough understanding of child development and are able to match therapy to the child's developmental needs.
