Children's Care Hospital & School, based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is the state's only children's hospital. It is a private, non-profit facility licensed by the South Dakota Department of Health. Last year, Children's Care Hospital & School served over 2200 children from birth to age 21 in South Dakota and surrounding states. |

Children's Special Health Services is funded through the federal Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant and state matching funds, and administered by the South Dakota Department of Health. Its goal is to improve health care services for South Dakota children with special health care needs. Pediatric specialists, the primary care physician, registered nurses, social workers, and dietitians work together to provide diagnostic, consultative, and care coordination services. This team works closely with the child's family to help them meet the child's needs. Financial assistance is also available for specified conditions and procedures on a cost-share basis according to family size and income, utilizing the federal poverty guidelines |
