LFSVA provides home and community based services for at-risk children and families. One of our programs is called Essential Pieces, and this is a free, structured, and educational program for parents and professionals who live with and serve children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This program also provides free respite care and a social group for children whose parents attend the parent group. A professional speaker leads each group, and includes presentations and Q & A sessions from individuals such as Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Founder of Autism Outreach, Developmental Optometrists, Teachers, Directors of Special Education, and many, many more individuals who serve our children.

The unique feature of Spicer & Associates is its multi professional approach to the field of physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities. Practically all of the information, products, and resources available today for healthcare professionals and parents rely on a one-dimensional model. Spicer & Associates remedies this situation by respecting the global nature of a person, with or without a disability, and the interconnectedness of all members of a society.

Social workers, family members, individuals with disabilities, clinicians, registered nurses, qualified mental retardation practitioners, social policy makers, and special education instructors all offer their own unique perspective. All of these voices need to be heard in determining the services, products, policies, and practices for individuals with disabilities. However, most important is the voice of the person with a disability. For this reason, the root of all movements should start with this goal in mind.

It is therefore an honor to offer the services of Spicer & Associates to individuals with disabilities, individuals assisting persons with disabilities, and family members of a person with a disability.
