The mission of the Child Care Services Division is to assure a statewide system that promotes and supports safe, accessible, quality child care for Vermont families. The Division is organized into five program areas that include the Licensing and Regulatory Unit, the Child Care Subsidy Unit, the Criminal/Child Abuse Records Verification Unit, the Quality Improvement Unit, and the Administrative Unit. Services include access to the Child Care Subsidy Program for eligible families, child care referral services for families seeking child care, and on-going professional development opportunities for child care providers.

The Vermont Developmental Disabilities Council is a statewide council made up of people with developmental disabilities, family members and state agency representatives. Sixty percent of the DD Council's members are people with disabilities or family members.

While we are a small part of the Vermont Department of Health, we provide a large selection of services to children who have complex health conditions and to their families. By "children" we mean Vermont residents, birth to age 21. A child's eligibility for a specific program may depend upon a number of factors. If you have any questions at all, please contact us.
