The All Our Children Center is funded by a United States Department of Education Grant. The spacious center serves the Northeast Washington area and is located within the district headquarters of the Riverside School District. It is staffed by parent mentors, trained in conflict resolution and information technology, who have children with special needs. It is equipped with computers, video equipment, a short-stay child care area and a lending library. The center offers parent education, referrals to professionals and organizations, assistance in accessing and qualifying for services, outreach, story theatre and mediation.

The Mission of AOC is to work in cooperation with the public schools and other organizations to meet the needs of infants, toddlers and children with disabilities. Toward this end, we support parent centered education and advocacy.

we are a parent founded, all volunteer, biomedical support group. We have an on-line listserve for WA state parents who are engaged in or seeking to begin biomedical, dietary, or other interventions for their children on the autism spectrum. As parents, we can share information on medical and therapy providers who we feel have been helpful to our families. There is no charge to be in our group, parents only.

The Autism Society of Washington is a non-profit organization that provides resources and referrals as well as advocacy for children and adults on the spectrum and their families, as well as professionals who work with them. We link with individuals, families, educators, physicians, law enforcement and other first responders and community members to improve awareness of autism issues and advocate for better services and supports in our state that assist individuals with being welcomed, productive members of their community. We also sponsor an annual conference bringing speakers from around the country to share their knowledge and information.

She also provides consultation services for families with newly diagnosed children and for youngsters and families transitioning from elementary to middle school to high school and to college or the work setting and for young adults with Asperger Syndrome. Hello - I am a psychotherapist in private practice, specializing in autism spectrum disorders. I provide mental health counseling to individuals on the spectrum, couples counseling when one partner is on the spectrum, social skills groups for adults and teens, and vocational/transition counseling. I also treat Internet addiction, as this can become a problem for those on the spectrum.

The Family Educator Partnership Project (FEPP) is funded by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Our purpose is to help create partnerships between families, educators and community agencies to support children and youth that need special education services. Family educator partnerships are changing the ways that families and educators work together to ensure educational success for children with disabilities.

Our Partnership Team Training promotes strong-shared leadership within a school district to bring a positive, proactive approach to planning services for children with disabilities. These teams commonly include parents, the special education director, teachers, para-educators, general education staff, community representative and others. This training is offered regionally.

The following examples highlight some of the initial activities of the partnership teams that have participated in the training.

Gather Information
