The Division of Adult Mental Health Services oversees the Statewide provision of community-based mental health services for adults. The Division’s focus is on the development and implementation of services to persons with serious and persistent mental illnesses, with an emphasis on those services which promote recovery and rehabilitation.

Government agency. The Council’s mission is to assure that West Virginians with developmental disabilities receive the services, supports and opportunities they need to achieve independence, productivity, integration and inclusion into the community of their choice.

DRS' mission is to enable and empower individuals with disabilities to work and to live independently.

The Consumer Services Division serves as a liaison between the insurance industry and you (insurance consumers of West Virginia, who are not represented by attorneys). The facts surrounding complaints received against insurance companies, agents and adjusters will be reviewed and objectively evaluated, pursuant to the West Virginia Insurance Code, Regulations and the insurance contract in question, to mediate a fair resolution.

WVPTI provides training, technical assistance, information and referral to parents and other professionals on appropriate educational services for students with special needs.

Parent centers in each state provide training and information to parents of infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and young adults with disabilities and the professionals who work with their families. This assistance helps parents participate more effectively with professionals in meeting the educational needs of children and youth with disabilities. Parent centers are funded by the U.S. Department of Education, under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
