Our mission is to provide funding and guidance responsive to the needs of people with disabilities to live, work, enjoy, and learn in Wyoming communities with their families, friends, and chosen support service and support providers.

To advance opportunities for persons with disabilities in Wyoming to be employed and independent. Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) assists Wyoming citizens with disabilities to prepare for, enter into, and return to suitable employment. Individuals with a disability that prevents them from working may apply for VR services.

A government agency. The goal of the Council is to increase the independence, productivity, inclusion and integration into the community of people with developmental disabilities through systemic change, capacity building and advocacy activities. The Council has attempted to meet this goal through a two-pronged advocacy approach, our State Plan and our Grant Program.

Special Education is a support system designed to provide students with disabilities an equal opportunity to participate in and to benefit from public education. The Special Programs Unit has the responsibility of assuring that children with disabilities receive a free appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE). Unit staff members coordinate the implementation of policies and procedures; provide training and technical assistance; and monitor programs that provide special education and related services.

The department provides optimum consumer protection and support to Wyoming residents by investigating consumer complaints and resolving issues on insurance matters.
