The Arc is the largest volunteer organization solely devoted to improving the welfare of all children and adults with mental retardation and their families. The Arc also collaborates with other agencies to meet the needs of people with mental retardation.
The Arc is a grassroots organization formed in 1950 by a small group of parents and other concerned individuals. Today there are 160,000 members and over 1,400 state and local chapters across the nation.

The CenTex ASD Clinic is staffed by a child psychiatrist, a child psychologist, a speech pathologist, and a PharmD/licensed professional counselor and provides comprehensive medical, psychological, and communication interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorders through assessment, treatment, education, and research.

AUCD formerly UAP(University Affiliated Programs) are authorized by federal legislation to help States and local communities respond to the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families.(AUCDs) serve as a liaison between the academic world and the developmental disabilities service delivery system. AUCDs network with and provide assistance to State Agencies, their local affiliates, and to various nongovermental consumer-based organizations. Most AUCDs provide direct clinical, educational, and other services to individuals and families, or can assist families in finding services.
